A complete switchgear consists of two main components: the primary circuit and the secondary circuit, which each perform their own duties and work closely together to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system.

The primary circuit, as the backbone of electrical energy transmission, undertakes the important task of conveying high current and high voltage. It mainly consists of high-voltage equipment such as circuit breakers, isolating switches, current transformers, and busbars. These devices are connected to each other through copper bars or cables, forming a complete current path. When the current enters the Switchgear from the incoming end, it first passes through the isolation switch and then flows to the outgoing end through the circuit breaker. The busbar serves as a hub to achieve multi circuit power distribution.

The secondary circuit is equivalent to the "nervous system" of the switchgear, responsible for monitoring, controlling, and protecting primary equipment. It is composed of various low-voltage equipment such as relays, measuring instruments, and signal devices. The secondary circuit can be subdivided into measurement circuit, control circuit, and protection circuit, each of which achieves different functions. The measurement circuit is responsible for collecting parameters such as current and voltage; Control the circuit to achieve the opening and closing operation of the circuit breaker; The protective circuit quickly operates in the event of a fault, cutting off the fault current.

Although the primary and secondary circuits have different functions, signal transmission is achieved through specific interface devices. Current transformers and voltage transformers are the most important interface devices, which convert the high voltage and high current of the primary circuit into low voltage and low current signals that can be processed by the secondary circuit through the principle of electromagnetic induction. This design ensures accurate signal transmission and electrical isolation between high and low voltage, ensuring operational safety.

In practical applications, the switchgear circuit system needs to be designed according to different usage scenarios. Industrial power distribution systems typically adopt drawer style circuit designs for easy maintenance; Smart substations use digital protection devices to achieve rapid protection through fiber optic communication; New energy power stations also need to be equipped with special anti backflow protection functions. Each application scenario imposes different technical requirements on the circuit system.

To ensure the reliable operation of the circuit system, it is necessary to strictly adhere to various operation and maintenance standards. Before operation, multiple tests such as circuit resistance testing and insulation testing are required; Regularly check the temperature of the connection points and monitor the insulation condition during daily operation; We also need to establish a complete equipment file and record various operating parameters. These measures can effectively prevent malfunctions and extend the service life of equipment.

With the advancement of technology, switchgear circuit systems are developing towards intelligence. The new online monitoring system can detect small partial discharges; The design that complies with the latest international standards makes the equipment more reliable; Compact design saves installation space. These innovations not only improve system performance, but also bring convenience to operation and maintenance work.
