Analysis of Power Transformer Market Dynamics and Trends in 2025
The Chinese market dominates the Asia-Pacific region, accounting for more than 40% of the global share. The application of intelligent and efficient technologies such as the Internet of Things and big data analysis has promoted the intelligent development of transformers, realizing remote monitoring and real-time optimization of energy distribution. For example, planar transformers are widely used in fast charging devices due to their high power density and thin and lightweight design.
Popularization of environmentally friendly and energy-saving products: Due to their oil-free insulation, high safety and environmentally friendly characteristics, the market demand for dry-type transformersis rising rapidly, and the output is expected to reach 380 million kilovolt-amperes in 2025. Green products such as amorphous alloy transformers are also accelerating the replacement of traditional oil-immersed transformers under policy promotion. Application of new materials: The performance optimization of epoxy resin (accounting for 15%-20% of the cost of Dry-Type Transformers) and oriented silicon steel (accounting for 25% of the cost of traditional transformers) significantly improves product energy efficiency.
Exhibitions in recent times have also shown new designs. Zhengzhou International Power Supply Exhibition (April 14-16): Focusing on the power supply industry chain, covering solar energy, energy storage, charging facilities and other fields, it is expected to attract 600 exhibitors and 40,000 buyers, and display new products such as special transformers and Modular Substations. Asia Charging Exhibition (March 28): Many companies released AI power supply supporting products, such as planar transformers and high-efficiency inductors. For example, Shenzhen Chaozhiwei launched a high-density gallium nitride power supply buck inductor, and Huizhou Changrui demonstrated a patented common-mode inductor design to promote the miniaturization and efficiency of charging equipment.
At present, the power transformer market is experiencing multiple benefits from technology upgrades, policy drives and demand expansion, and intelligent, green and high-efficiency products have become the focus of competition. Enterprises need to increase R&D investment to cope with the challenges of increased environmental protection standards and costs, while seizing opportunities in new energy infrastructure and export markets.
